Renewable Fuels Nebraska Congratulates Appointments of Three Ethanol Producers to Nebraska Ethanol Board
LINCOLN, Neb. Renewable Fuels Nebraska (RFN) congratulates Todd Good of Archer Daniel Midland (ADM), Joe Shanle of Trenton Agri Products (TAP) and Brent Hoops of Chief Ethanol on their appointments to the Nebraska Ethanol Board (NEB), marking an important milestone in the Board’s newly modernized structure.
The three appointments place ethanol producers in voting positions on the NEB for the first time under changes enacted through LB 815 earlier this year. The legislation expanded and modernized the Board’s structure while ensuring those directly involved in Nebraska ethanol production have a formal voice in its decisions.
“This is an exciting moment for Nebraska’s ethanol industry,” said Dawn Caldwell, executive director of Renewable Fuels Nebraska. “Todd, Joe and Brent each bring a different perspective and tremendous real-world experience to the table. More importantly, they understand firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing ethanol producers every day. We are grateful for their willingness to serve and confident their perspectives will be valuable as the Board moves forward.”
Good serves as plant manager at ADM Corn Processing in Columbus, Shanle is vice president of operations at Trenton Agri Products in Trenton, and Hoops serves as commodities director at Chief Ethanol Fuels. All three companies are members of Renewable Fuels Nebraska.
For RFN, the appointments represent the culmination of an important effort to strengthen coordination between Nebraska’s ethanol producers and the state agency charged with supporting the development and growth of the industry.
“Modernizing the Nebraska Ethanol Board was about preparing it for where our industry is headed next,” Caldwell said. “Nebraska ethanol continues to evolve through new technologies, new markets and new opportunities for our state’s farmers and rural communities. Having producers directly engaged in Board decisions creates an important connection between the work happening inside Nebraska’s ethanol plants and the programs, research and market development efforts being advanced statewide.”
Under LB 815, the Nebraska Ethanol Board consists of nine voting members, including three ethanol producers. The legislation also updated the Board’s statutory mission to address emerging opportunities for ethanol, ethanol coproducts and ethanol-derived products while maintaining its focus on research, market development, education and industry support.
Renewable Fuels Nebraska looks forward to continuing its partnership with the entire Nebraska Ethanol Board and staff, and working alonside Good, Shanle, and Hoops as they begin their service as voting members.
