RFN Commends Historic Renewable Fuel Standards

LINCOLN, NE – Renewable Fuels Nebraska (RFN) today welcomed EPA’s final “Set 2” Renewable Fuel Standard rule, setting the highest renewable fuel volume requirements in program history for 2026 and 2027.

“These historic volumes provide certainty for Nebraska’s ethanol industry and the farmers who depend on strong biofuels markets,” said RFN Executive Director Dawn Caldwell.

“Today, President Trump announced the largest renewable fuel volume obligations in American history. These new standards deliver a major win over the next two years, not only through an expanded market for America’s farmers, ranchers, and ethanol producers, but through lower fuel prices for American consumers needing relief. Renewable Fuels Nebraska and the members we represent thank President Trump and EPA Administrator Zeldin for giving us more opportunity to meet the demand for affordable, American-made renewable fuels.”

The rule strengthens demand for U.S. biofuels, supports rural economies, and reinforces America’s energy independence.
