Renewable Fuels Nebraska Joins Governor Pillen and State and Federal Leaders in Celebrating Renewable Fuels Month

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA — Renewable Fuels Nebraska (RFN) joins with farmers, ranchers, producers, and workers across the state in celebrating the start of Renewable Fuels Month in Nebraska, in advance of Governor Pillen’s official proclamation on May 19th.

Renewable Fuels Nebraska Executive Director Dawn Caldwell issued the following statement:

“Renewable fuels are essential to Nebraska and the Good Life. They provide stability to our farming families, high-quality jobs and meaningful opportunities for our workers, and contribute more than $6 billion to our state each year.

“Now more than ever, drivers across the country also recognize the vital role that ethanol and other biofuels play in our economy. Even as wars and regional tensions disrupt global energy markets, millions of American families still save more of their hard-earned money at the pump thanks to Nebraska-grown renewable fuels blended into our nation’s fuel supply.

“The success of Nebraska’s renewable fuels industry is thanks to farmers, ranchers, producers, and workers across the state. And we’re grateful for the partners who help pave the way for that progress - including Governor Pillen, Senators Fischer and Ricketts, Representatives Bacon, Flood, and Smith, and our state senators - by advocating for higher ethanol blends that incorporate more of our homegrown fuels and create more opportunities for our families.”

Nebraska produces the second-most ethanol of any state in the country. Its 24 ethanol plants employ more than 1,400 Nebraskans across the state and directly benefit the rest of its bioeconomy by driving up demand for Nebraska farmers’ corn and other feedstocks.

Renewable Fuels Nebraska will proudly represent its member producers, farmers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from across the state at Governor Pillen’s proclamation ceremony on Tuesday, May 19th at 9:00 a.m. in the State Capitol, where he will officially designate May as Renewable Fuels Month.

Fueled by Nebraska, a partnership of Nebraska biofuels organizations, and the Nebraska Soybean Board, invite you to join them to celebrate renewable fuels in your classrooms, at work, and in your community this May. Learn more and find ethanol retail locations at fueledbynebraska.com.
